BSCF Condemns Racist Rape Attack on Sikh Woman in Oldbury

The British Sikh Consultative Forum (BSCF) strongly condemns the appalling racist rape attack on a Sikh woman in Oldbury, Midlands. This horrific incident is not only a brutal act of gender-based violence against an innocent woman, but also a hate crime targeting her because of her Sikh identity.

We stand in full solidarity with the victim, her family, and the wider Sikh community at this deeply distressing time. Such acts of hatred and violence have no place in our society. They cause lasting trauma, spread fear, and attempt to divide communities.

BSCF calls on local authorities, law enforcement agencies, and community leaders to ensure that:

  • The victim receives the fullest support, protection, and access to justice.
  • A thorough investigation is conducted, recognising this as both a sexual assault and a racially motivated hate crime.
  • Urgent measures are taken to address and prevent violence against women and the racist targeting of minority communities.

We urge all communities to come together in unity, reject hatred in all its forms, and work towards building a Britain where everyone is safe, respected, and treated with dignity.
